Το περιμέναμε πριν την ανακοίνωση του iPad 2, το είδαμε στην σελίδα της Apple, θα το διαπιστώσουμε σύντομα με τα ίδια μας τα μάτια. Η κάμερα του iPad 2 είναι τόσο χάλια όσο και αυτή του iPod touch τελευταίας γενιάς. Μπορεί να καταγράφει βίντεο ποιότητας HD 720p αλλά αυτό ήταν. Για την ακρίβεια και σύμφωνα με την Apple, η κάμερα του iPad 2 ίσως είναι χειρότερη από αυτή του iPod touch. Η Apple αναφέρει ότι η πίσω κάμερα του iPad 2 έχει τις εξής δυνατότητες: Video recording, HD (720p) up to 30 frames per second with audio; still camera with 5x digital zoom.
Για το iPod touch η Apple αναφέρει: Video recording, HD (720p) up to 30 frames per second with audio; still photos (960 x 720) with back camera ενώ για το iPhone 4 η Apple είναι ξεκάθαρη για τις δυνατότητες της κάμερας: Video recording, HD (720p) up to 30 frames per second with audio και 5-megapixel still camera.
Η εμμονή του Steve Jobs στην λεπτομέρεια αφήνει ελάχιστο περιθώριο σχετικά με τις δυνατότητες της κάμερας του iPad 2. Είναι σχεδόν αδύνατο η Apple να έχει κάνει λάθος στο website ή να έχει παραλείψει κάτι σχετικά με τις φωτογραφικές δυνατότητες του iPad 2. Το πιο πιθανό είναι ότι θα δούμε χειρότερες ή το ίδιο χάλια φωτογραφίες με αυτές του iPod touch, στην πενιχρή ανάλυση του 1 megapixel και χαμηλότερα.
Εκτός από την σελίδα των χαρακτηριστικών του iPad 2 και της παραπάνω περιγραφής, η Apple τονίζει μόνο της δυνατότητες καταγραφής βίντεο. Η αναφορά στις φωτογραφίες είναι ασαφής στην καλύτερη περίπτωση. Συγκεκριμένα η Apple αναφέρει:

Καμία αναφορά στο πόσο καλές μπορεί να είναι οι φωτογραφίες με χαμηλό φωτισμό ή οι φωτογραφίες με αναμνήσεις που μπορούν εύκολα να σταλούν μέσω email κλπ. Σίγουρα η Apple έχει πετσοκόψει την κάμερα του iPad 2 ώστε να περιορίσει της φωτογραφίες στο ελάχιστο και να προωθήσει το iPhone 4 και μόνο. Υπομονή μέχρι τις 11 Μαρτίου για τα πρώτα iPad 2 reviews.
